Some of you may have noticed mention here and there about us adopting, but we haven’t made a huge ‘announcement’ of it, yet. Since people may be curious, or be considering foster-to-adopt themselves, I thought it wise to document our journey. Here’s all about how Our Foster Adoption Story Begins – and we need YOUR help!

Almost a year ago now – shortly after we moved into our new, bigger home – we kept getting this feeling that our family was missing some members. Little signs and comments, feelings when we’d see things, that sort of nature. After lots of prayer – because we were so set on our family staying the 6 of us – we knew that’s what we needed to do. Since we’re firmly past the ‘baby stage’, we felt adopting a foster sibling group would be the best course. Not only that, but there’s SO MANY children in the foster care system longing for a forever family! After lots of paperwork and training, then the home study, we were finally approved!
I’m trying to be patient and prepared, but so anxious to meet my children that I know are out there somewhere, but haven’t even met yet! I’ll break down the steps and all the processes we went through in later posts to give more detail – but this post is more of a call to our friends, family, and you amazing readers to help make our adoption dreams come true. While adopting from foster has most of the costs covered by the state, there’s other costs we have to meet: travel for appointments, training, meeting case workers/kids, adoption events, etc. We’ll need to take some time off of work when they come home, so we can focus on getting all the minor details like school, schedules and such worked out while starting to build that love and family bonding. We also up-sized our family vehicle to fit everyone. Foster kids often don’t have much, so we’re starting to get furniture like beds/bedding together, and there’s so much more they may need – clothes, hair brush, school supplies. They might have only a small bag of their belongings, so who knows what they’ll need to start making their home!
This is where you come in – I’ve spent the past 8ish months working like crazy, often with little sleep, to create three AMAZING products that I know you’ll love. We’re hoping for help to raise money for our adoption – but I don’t want a hand-out. Instead, I’m asking you to take a look at our STORE and see if anything would be helpful to you, or maybe be a great gift for someone else.
I wanted to make them as budget-friendly as possible, so the books are set just above costs, and we also have pdf downloads available of them all – more affordable, and you can print at home as you prefer!
Here’s the deal – not only will you get a great product, but if we reach our sales goal, we’ll do a HUGE giveaway! Still working on those details – but we’re hoping for a family trip of some sorts 😀 Anyone who makes a purchase between today and December 31st, 2016 will be entered. One entry for each product purchased! (purchases from Amazon ineligible, as we have no way to track – sorry!)
