Now that it’s summer vacation, a LOT of people will be going on vacation. Almost everyone I talk to is all excited about some upcoming trip. Many of them are taking their young children. My first thought is usually: “You are amazing to be excited about being in a car that long with little kids. That would scare the crap outta me!” For all you brave souls like these other people, here’s a little help: Road Trip Games for Young Kids!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done long van trips with kids. We’ve done Disneyland several times, 14-20 hour drives depending on whether it was before or after we moved. To visit our family, it’s 18-20 hours of drive time. To move here was that same drive. Yes, I’ve been though the driving with kids experience, and as much as I absolutely love my kids and spending time with them….it was pure torture.
Since our families live so far away, it’s inevitable that we’ll have to make that dreaded drive again sometime in the future. Because, get real, who wants to buy airfare for six people?! Not I, ma’amm! I’m keeping this handy guide….well, handy….for when that time comes! So on to the goods: Road Trip Games for Young Kids!
