Chocolate Peanut Butter Milky Way Cookies

Today is my baby’s 2nd birthday, and I just can’t believe it! I’m sure every mother can relate, but it’s completely ridiculous and surprising how fast they grow up. Seems like just yesterday I stopped in the pediatric surgery section of the hospital to see my newly-thyroid-free sister, still groggy from surgery, on my way to the labor/maternity wing. Crazy night for us both! After Green Lantern was born, my amazing mom watched my other kids at her in-home daycare for me to recover for a week. That week was such a nice bonding time with him, and I’m so grateful that I had that time. To celebrate, let’s whip up these Chocolate Peanut Butter Milky Way Cookies!

Anywho, enough of memory lane for right now and onto this amazingly delicious cookies! I know the name is a bit long, but really, how else could I fit in everything to accurately capture this cookie? There’s chocolate, peanut butter, Milky Ways…seriously, how could it not be good?!

Ingredients for Chocolate Side
2 sticks Butter, room temperature
1 cup Sugar
3/4 cup Brown sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 3/4 cup Flour
1 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
2 tsp. Baking soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 (of an 11.24 oz) bag Milky Ways, fun sized
Ingredients for Peanut Butter Side
2 cups Peanut Butter, creamy
2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 (of an 11.24 oz) bag Milky Ways, fun sized
1 1/2 cups Chocolate Chips
Directions
Chop all of the Milky Ways (for both sides).
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
For the chocolate side, blend the butter and sugars together well. Mix in the egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Add the two mixtures together. Stir in the Milky Way pieces (remember, just half the bag into this mixture).
For the peanut butter side, blend the peanut butter, sugar and eggs until well combined. Stir in the remaining Milky Ways  and chocolate chips.
Spooning an even amount from each of the two mixtures, roll them together. Press them down slightly on a greased baking sheet.
Bake for about 10 minutes, or until done. Cool, and enjoy!
Notes: this made about 4 dozen, when doing 1 tbsp. of each mixture (so 2 tbsp. of total cookie dough per cookie).
