I was allowed to test out the Chrysler Pacifica for a week to assist this post. All opinions are my own.
I was thrilled to try out the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited last week, especially since we had many different events to go to so it was the perfect timing to really test it! I know newer vehicles have a ton of bells and whistles since I was younger and things were pretty simple – but holy cow, they went all out with the Chrysler Pacifica! This van is the perfect family vehicle, and I’ll tell you some of the reasons why…
Note: we tested the 2017 Pacifica Limited – features may vary depending on vehicle
Check out the awesome trunk space – the back has plenty of room in the little ‘dip’, where the back seats can easily store. Yup – both rows of back seats can store under the floor! I had no problem fitting all of our groceries in there without smashing anything, or rolling around.
People have different preferences for their dashboard – the screen on this van has 9 pages of information, and some can be customized! I liked my set on the first one – Speedometer. Hubby liked number 4 – Fuel Economy. You can even set up speed warnings on one of them – perfect for if your teen/college student takes the van for a bit and you want to make sure they’re driving as you’d like 🙂
Along with the amazing trunk space, I love that to store the back seats there’s just simple buttons in the back you can push. No more fighting with straps or handles to get them stored!
Behind the driver and passenger front seats were built-in DVD players that could flip up. HOLY COW – love these! There’s even a headphone jack, USB and HDMI port next to each – ya, it’s family road trip heaven.
To store the two middle row seats, they fold up in front of them – just push the button inside and below the sliding doors and it moves the front seat away while you store it, then moves it back to how it was set up before. Another thought hubby had – it’s the perfect place to store a first aid kit when the seats aren’t being stored!
I’m personally not a fan of this particular color, but love the sleek design of the van. You can push a button to easily fold in the mirrors, and the headlights were great for night or cloudy days. There’s also a tiny button on the sliding door handles the kids can push and it opens – no more seeing them tug hard on door handles!
More features I really enjoyed with the Pacifica were the easy-to-wipe-down seats, which were also comfy for my kiddos in back. There was a dial instead of a handle for switching from Park to Reverse or Drive and such. At first I found it annoying, but after I got use to it really loved the idea. The rear heat/cool was easily controlled back there by the kids, easy to reach for the oldest but not too close for the younger ones.
The back-up camera was INCREDIBLE! The images were super clear, and you could see a top view to really make sure you’re clear on all sides. The guiding lines also curve as you turn, showing where you’re going instead of staying straight. I’m really going to miss this feature!
One of the things I did NOT like, was the buttons right next to the back seat – where my boys could easily reach and fiddle with. They’re right by the side, above the cup holders, to it’s tempting for them to mess with them which could be not only annoying, but dangerous if they move the seat into an unsafe-for-car-seat position.
Other than that one difficult issue, I really loved the Chrysler Pacifica and we all will miss the incredible features and smooth ride!
