Fingerprint Dad Gift
Who’s ready for another week of Craft Lightning? I sure am – and this month I get to co-host, meaning I’ll share a fantastic and easy Father’s Day gift idea every day this week. Woot woot! I love these easy gift ideas, and there’s so many fun ones that kid’s can help make. Today’s project is a really neat Fingerprint Dad Gift that takes only a few minutes of active crafting, then just letting it dry!
This isn’t only a simple craft for Father’s Day, but definitely budget friendly! It just takes a few supplies to whip up. I was able to find everything I needed on-hand, which was really convenient.
Supplies
- Plate, mug or other surface for the main gift
- Paint
- DAD sticker
Directions
- Make sure the plate (or other) surface is clean and dry. Place the sticker where you want it.
- Using the paint, have your kids make fingerprints all over, covering the stickers entirely. Since we didn’t want the paint to smudge and mix, we did one color, let it dry, then another. Each kid wanted their own color, so Dad will be able to tell who’s fingerprints are whose!
- Once mostly dry, carefully remove the DAD sticker. It’s now neatly outlined for a special decoration (or usable item, like a mug!)
We put ours on a cute little easel we had, and it’s displayed on our mantel right now. Yes, we gave it to him early – the kids were so excited that they couldn’t resist telling him, so figure it didn’t matter 🙂
