I was provided a free ribbon kit to review, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. See my Disclosure Policy for more information.

Especially with the holidays coming up, I’ve already started printing fun, customized ribbons from my Epson LabelWorks Printable Ribbon Kit. First, let me show you how ridiculously simple this is to use! Open up your machine (just snaps open, no frustrating screws to deal with) and put in your batteries. Then select which ribbon you’re going to use…..this is my ‘Black on Beige’ cartridge. Simply snap it into place, having the ribbon in the correct spot as shown below….

Snap you machine back together and turn it on. Then have fun customizing your ribbon! There’s frames to choose from ad little images such as this turkey…and you can choose between several fonts.

I love that it also cuts it smoothly off with the press of the green button on the side!

Since I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year, I thought it would be fun to label everyone’s straw with customized name labels, plus just some fun accents around my tablescape saying Happy Thanksgiving.

I think these make a darling accent for drinks, decor and gifts, too!

Party fun with Lollipics

Party Fun with Lollipics / by Busy Mom's Helper #Lollipics #Frozen #Party #Printables

*We received free Lollipics to review for this post. All opinions are our own. See my Disclosure Policy for more information.

We’re almost through the week, can you believe it? Nope, I can’t either…but Woot Woot! As I promised in yesterday’s post, I’m sharing some Party Fun with Lollipics!

Party Fun with Lollipics / by Busy Mom's Helper #Lollipics #Frozen #Party #Printables

If you missed our big Frozen Birthday Party post yesterday, be sure to check out all the fabulous fun! So many great ideas for food, decor, games plus Free Printable invitations and more! I touched a bit on these super cute Lollipics that we used as both decoration and party favors, but wanted to go into more depth on the company and product as a whole.

Party Fun with Lollipics / by Busy Mom's Helper #Lollipics #Frozen #Party #Printables

I was first introduced to Lollipics at SNAP! Conference last April, and their staff were just amazingly friendly and down to earth. They even brought soda for us bloggers, knowing we need our caffeine! I was instantly impressed with their product, and thought the whole idea of putting an image, even a photograph, on a lollipop was pure genius! They gave us each a sample one there….this is how mine turned out:

Party Fun with Lollipics / by Busy Mom's Helper #Lollipics #Frozen #Party #Printables

Loved it! And they did that overnight at their facility there in Utah, from an old photo on my phone. I was then able to try one of their pre-made designs (they offer TONS….really, you can find practically anything on their site) for the Pirate Birthday Party a few months ago.

Party Fun with Lollipics / by Busy Mom's Helper #Lollipics #Frozen #Party #Printables

I just HAD to have some for our Frozen Birthday Party, and wanted to try out a design I create and submit on my own. I did these two designs, which you’re welcome to use for personal use!

The program on Lollipics is really so easy to use, it took hardly any time at all to get my order placed. The one big issue was deciding which of the wonderful colors/flavors to choose from! I finally settled on their Blue Raspberry and Grape, to stick with the blue and purple theme of our party. They taste great, and look fabulous! I used them  in their Olaf Favor Bags….plus as a part of our beautiful centerpiece!

Frozen Birthday Party

May 3, 2016 by Kelly Dedeaux

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Okay, so I know the whole Frozen Birthday Party has been done a million times already all over Pinterest and such, but this was our first girl birthday since the movie hit theaters last year. Every since we saw it in theaters, Wonder Woman had been begging us like crazy to let her have her own Frozen Birthday Party, so after all that waiting I was finally able to give her one….and I get to share the fun with you today!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

This post contains affiliate links. You can see my Disclosure Policy for more information.

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw a sneak peak on Saturday when I was (finally) all set up and ready for the party to begin. I was so excited to bring in all the fun Frozen ideas I’d gathered throughout the year, such as our Frozen Wreath, and items from her Frozen Inspired Bedroom. I’ll admit, I’m also a huge Frozen fan, so it was a lot of fun for me to prep it all!

Frozen Birthday Party Invitations

Don’t die of shock, but I actually passed out the invitations a whole TWO weeks before the party. Yup, I was on the ball for once! Probably won’t happen again for several months, but hey, I’ll take what I can get. I loved designing these fun invitations to be a fun envelope all by itself!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

So there’s two sides to this, and you can fit two of them on a page. This FREE PRINTABLE Frozen Birthday Invitation already has it laid out for you!

You can click here to download the Frozen Invitation Inside. It prints 2 per page, about 5×7 in size.

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

And here’s the printable ‘outside’ part, that works as an envelope:

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Just be sure to print it correctly…when you open the envelope you should see the ‘You’re Invited’ under the top flap. I included fold lines on the outside, plus the lines where you can cut the flap out.

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Frozen Birthday Party Decorations

Let’s start with the decorations, since I was seriously STOKED at how beautiful it all turned out! It was based on blue and purple, of course, with lots of sparkles and ‘snow sparkle’ goodness thrown in. My baby sis had a Frozen party earlier this year, so many of the supplies are leftover from that (thanks Mom and Sis!).

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

For the backdrop, I just got some blue, purple and white cheap plastic tablecloths from Walmart for a buck each, and pinned them hanging from the wall. Over the top of the tablecloth drapes are two Iridescent Vinyl Curtains. The Tissue Pom-Poms are hung to the side for a little extra dimension and fun!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Another cheap tablecloth on the table, then some sparkly purple and white tissue paper as a ‘table runner’ in the middle. Gotta love budget-friendly ideas, right?! In the center is a large round vase filled with little blue and purple Sixlet candy balls, along with huge gum balls. Then just stick in some blue and purple candy cane sticks and rock candies, plus a fun snowflake wand as an attractive centerpiece. I had some ‘crystal garland’ leftover as a holiday decoration, so folded that around the base. Wrap some ribbon around the center of the vase, add a simple snowflake sticker, and there ya go! In the small vase I also have my Lollipics, made especially for this party…don’t worry, more details on those to come!

Wonder Woman even wore her Elsa Dress to add to the atmosphere! She wanted to let one of the girls wear the Anna Dress I made her (in less than 2 hours)….but that many girls and ONE costume wouldn’t have ended well, so we skipped that!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Frozen Birthday Party Food

So we’ve got the main atmosphere looking and feeling totally Frozen-ified, right? But you can’t have a party without some delish and fun food! We had a whole variety, so every single one of our young girls were able to find plenty that they liked!

First up, we’ve got the Frozen Hearts. Take some delicious strawberries (I love Driscoll’s Berries), dip them in melted white chocolate, then sprinkle some blue crystal sprinkles over them. Viola….delicious, healthy, and totally fun! Plus, cute as a decoration 🙂

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Sven’s carrots were, surprisingly, a huge hit with our party guests! You can go with this, or call them Olaf’s Noses. Your choice!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

As the main course, I couldn’t get the sound of my kids singing ‘finish each other’s….SANDWICHES’ out of my head, so sandwiches it was! Again, LOVING easy!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

“What is that delicious smell? MMMMM….Chocolate!” Yup, break out some mini chocolates, or just chocolate chips, to give ’em some yummy!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

I saw this idea on Pinterest, and LOVED how cute the Melted Snowman’s were! Just some vanilla yogurt, chocolate chips, candy eyes…and an orange candy for the nose. I used Reeses chocolate chips for the nose, but there’s others if you want.

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

A Frozen buffet table wouldn’t be complete without Kristoff’s Ice Cubes. Blue jello to the rescue!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

The cups were also a handy ‘adding to the decor’ factor on our table. We just got some cheap plastic ‘champagne’ glasses, tied pretty ribbon around each, then added some fun purple and blue striped straws….give it a little ‘pop’! The girls loved them!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Notice the fun place cards for the food, also? Simply print off some pictures of the characters on paper with a fun blue background (or blue paper….even easier), cut a styrofoam ball in half with a slit on top, then you’ve got a darling place holder snowball!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Frozen Birthday Party Games & Activities

We had a ton of fun doing Frozen crafts and games during the party, even though the girls got so hyper and excited! What’s a party without a little crazy noise, right? To start it off, we made some fun foam Elsa Crowns. I used the template from My Sister’s Suitcase, so head over there for the tutorial. I was able to find LARGE foam sheets, so could fit many crowns onto one. Get random stickers, sparkles, foam shapes or letters to decorate.

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Do you remember the game ‘Don’t Eat Pete’? Well, we’ve got a special Don’t Eat Olaf game board you can print right off! To play, print the game board using that link and laminate it (if you want). Use marshmallows, candies, pom-poms, whatever and put one on each picture. The person who is ‘it’ goes away, then the rest decide which picture is the one that time. The ‘it’ person comes back and one-by-one starts removing the candies. When they go to remove the one on the selected picture, everyone yells ‘Don’t Eat Olaf’ and the ‘it’ person can’t choose anymore. Using treats makes it more fun, since they want to get as many as possible.

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

We also made Elsa Wands, like the one in our table centerpiece. Just paint tall craft sticks, use ribbon to twist up it, add a snowflake, dangle ribbon, whatever you want to make it a cute pretty Frozen wand!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

You can also do a Frozen Memory Game…just print pictures from the movie, double of each, laminate them and play away! Or even this Pin the Nose on Olaf game!

Frozen Birthday Party Favors

The girls got to keep their crowns and wands, plus these adorable Olaf Favor Bags! Just simple white bags, add some googly eyes, then cut out the black mouth and orange carrot nose. Simple, yet everyone loves them! Fill them with other favors such as the purple and blue candy canes, rock candy, stickers, blue and silver kisses, marshmallows, the blue and purple sixlets and gumballs, nab some fun Frozen favors, and especially some fabulous Lollipics!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Love them? Want some for YOUR next party, whether it be Frozen, like our Pirate Lollipics earlier in the summer, or your own theme of choice? Come back tomorrow to learn more about this wonderful company, plus a GIVEAWAY for a dozen free Lollipics of your own choice or design! LOVE THEM!

Frozen Birthday Party / by Busy Mom's Helper #Frozen #Disney #Olaf #Elsa #Birthday #Party #GirlParty

Everyone had an absolute blast at the party, and I was so thrilled with how it all turned out. Head on over to Shindigz for so many supplies and ideas for your next party! They certainly made my vision possible, and left Wonder Woman a very very happy Elsa!

Pirate Party: Part Two / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #boyparty #pirateparty #freeprintables

Aren’t those just the cutest?! I first met the crew from Lollipics at SNAP! Conference, and instantly loved their products. I mean, how cool is it to just upload any photo or graphic and have them create your very own personalized, handcrafted lollipop with edible images? SUPER COOL!

Plus, they’re some of the nicest people ever….and came fully stocked with a mountain of Diet Coke for those bloggers needing a pick-me-up. I also fully support companies that provide quality products AND quality shipping. How often do you order something, and it ends up packaged half-properly? These guys take the time to put your tasty Lollipics into a very well packaged box, with more than adequate padding.

Call me crazy, but I think any company that takes the time to make the PACKAGING look nicely done deserves two thumbs up!

These Pirate Lollipics  are one of their MANY stock images that you can choose from, if you don’t have a specific image of your own. And you don’t have to buy dozens of them…just a minimum order of 6! I used these as a fabulous Thank You gift for our party friends. Since we did a photo booth, the following week we printed their pictures and took them in an envelope with our cute printable, attaching their very own Lollipic for them to enjoy!

Although many of the games and activities served as decor, also, here are some of the other Pirate-y extras!

We used our Chore Treasure Chest to hold our pirate swords, hats, and eye patches (all found on Amazon) next to our photo booth. We made our spy glasses using empty paper towel rolls covered with brown paper, then gold paper on the ends and semi-middle. Super simple, yet they STILL play with them like crazy!

Pirate Party: Part One

December 24, 2020 by Kelly Dedeaux

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

It’s been almost a month since Green Lantern’s 3rd birthday, and I’m finally ready to share his Pirate Party with you! There was a quite a bit, so today I’ll be sharing the games and activities we did!

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

Contains affiliate links that support this blog at no extra cost to you. See our Disclosure for more info.

Better late than never, right? After the party was over, I got so busy doing the boys’ Pirate Bedroom that I just let his Pirate Party sit on the back burner for awhile. I guess this way we have a couple weeks filled with Pirate fun, right?!

Even with all the exciting stuff for his party, Green Lantern was in the wrong mood for a party that afternoon. We’d be like ‘time to open presents’ and our stubborn 3-year-old says ‘I too busy’! Seriously, what a pill! Once we convinced him to join in, though, he couldn’t get enough of the fun! We didn’t do a lot of complex activities at this Pirate Party, since it was geared towards 3-year-olds, but most of it can be changed up for any age level!

Walk the Plank

It doesn’t get much more simple than this, but the kids thought it was a blast! Just get a long board (make sure it’s sturdy…don’t want injured kids) and something to prop up the ends on. We used some extra bricks. The blow up Tick-Tock-Croc was from Amazon (and came with rings for a toss game….see below what we used them for).

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

Hook Toss

I quickly colored stripes on a plain poster board, cut holes and stuck three hooks through (ordered on Amazon), and then used the rings that came with ol’ Tick-Tock-Croc for a fabulous game of toss. The youngest friends (under 2 year olds) hung out by this the majority of the time, putting the rings on, taking them off, putting them on….it was super cute!

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

Make a Pirate Face

I found this awesome stick book at Walmart for a few bucks. It has a LOT of pages of pirate characters, then you use the included sticker sheets to make your own with eyes, noses, mustaches, skulls, and other pirate stuff! Some of the kids wanted their pirate to look ‘the right way’, others turned out quite unique!

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

Take Yer Photo – Photo Booth

Since the kids were moving around so much during the Pirate Party, I was so glad I did a spot for a photo booth. That way, I actually got SOME photos that weren’t blurry from all the jumping and running! I just used cheap $1 tablecloths in red, white and black hanging on the wall for the backdrop. For the banner, I cut out black and red poster board, taped each to some rope (thought that was more fitting than ribbon), and put skull stickers on them.

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

Dig for Treasure

My wonderful neighbor let us borrow her little sand box for this activity. We filled it with sand, but put some pirate treasure in there for the kids to dig up! You can get simple pirate things such as skull rings, ‘jewels’, or other small items. It helped to have a list of how many of what each child could get, so one person didn’t end up with ALL the rings or jewels!

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

DIY Treasure Chests

For this one, you’ll need a bunch of empty wipe containers. I spray painted them gold with Rust-Oleum’s Metallic Gold spray paint. The kids then used glue, glue dots and/or tape to attach jewels to their ‘treasure chests’. They were able to use these to take home some of their ‘booty’ from the digging for treasure activity! If using normal glue, I’d suggest doing this activity near the beginning to allow time for it to dry.

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

Sing Happy Birthday

Okay, so I know that’s a huge ‘DUH’ activity for the birthday, but I had to put it so I could show you this photo…..THIS was Green Lantern’s attitude for the party! While everyone was singing happy birthday to him, with candles lit on the cake, he sat there with his hand flat over his face. Yup, told ya, MAJOR PILL!

Pirate Party: Part One / by www.BusyMomsHelper.com #pirate #party #birthday #boyparty

Stay tuned for PART TWO of our Pirate Party, where I’ll share all the decor, fun food and Free Printables! Oh – and the coolest pirate thank you gift EVER: Lollipics!

Easter Scavenger Hunt: Free Printables

April 30, 2018 by Kelly Dedeaux

Easter Scavenger Hunt with Free Printables / by BusyMomsHelper.com #Easter #freeprintables #egghunt #Easterhunt #scavengerhunt

I don’t know why, but my kids are REALLY getting into the Easter fun lately. They keep talking about eggs, their baskets, and asking all sorts of questions about the Easter bunny. With all the jibber-jabber, it’s hard for me to ignore the fact that it’s fast approaching. Ugh! One of the things that’s a long-standing tradition in my family is an Easter Scavenger Hunt. Who doesn’t love searching for eggs or other little surprises, huh?

Easter Scavenger Hunt with Free Printables / by BusyMomsHelper.com #Easter #freeprintables #egghunt #Easterhunt #scavengerhunt

Every single year in my youth we did a HUGE Easter Scavenger Hunt. I’m not talking each kid had a few eggs to find, I mean we all had DOZENS of candy-or-treat filled eggs to search for. We looked forward to it for months, and there’s many happy (and funny) memories involving those times.

One of the difficult things with scavenger hunts is keeping it simple enough that even my 2 year old can pitch in the search. My sweet sis-in-law put together a few cute poems that are fun-yet-simple enough that all ages can join in! Wonder Woman reads them aloud, then they all assist with figuring it out!

This isn’t exactly how we did it growing up, but for us this is a grand old time! I’m not sure what your household does, but we try to avoid too many treats (I make enough suger-filled snacks already). Instead, I try to nab simple-yet-cute-and-budget-friendly surprises such as toys, games, coloring books, crayons, and things like that. Plus, it keeps them busy AFTER the hunt is over…BONUS!

I have no idea what’s going on with Batman’s ‘uni-brow’ here, but he’s cute enough to pull it off. And the top left…he just couldn’t believe the fun, the little nut!

And Green Lantern was just plain adorable…even when he starting chewing on the hat. What a pill!

Grinch Who Stole Christmas Party

May 1, 2016 by Kelly Dedeaux

Grinch stole Christmas Party / Busy Mom's Helper
One thing I really enjoy doing is making themed family nights based on movies we watch together. Remember our Monster Party from this summer, before we went to see Monsters University? That was so much fun! The kids love things like this, and it’s definitely something that can bring the whole family together laughing. So I decided to do a How the Grinch Stole Christmas party!
Grinch stole Christmas Party / Busy Mom's Helper
I love the atmosphere of happiness, fun and love at Christmas-time. Now, I’m not talking the atmosphere at stores such as Walmart, where everyone is cranky, mean and in a hurry. That’s just horrible anytime, especially this time of year. I’m meaning the kids excitement, the counting down fun, and bright lights that put a smile on your face, giving to others, extra opportunities for serve – all of that just really lifts me up out of my normal slump. It’s WONDERFUL!
The Meal
For ‘Who Hash, we did mashed potatoes mixed with ham bits and cheese.
Who Pudding was simply Tapioca pudding turned green. Thinking back, I would’ve done it red.
Our drink was a pink-red Cindy Lou Who Punch. Simply some juice ice cubes in Cherry Pomegranate Crystal Light.
These Grinch Heart Cookies were just fun. I didn’t do them in heart shapes, but the cookie itself is pink (heart) and the cinnamon-sugar outside is green (Grinch fuzz, or whatever). Simple Snickerdoodles!
Want to print your own cards? Here’s some fun printables for you!
I included an empty one, so you can fill in your own little meal name!
The Activity
Needing something quick and simple, we did these coloring pages. Most of my kids LOVE art activities, so it was a winner! I even added this fun poem I found online (don’t know the source, but know that it wasn’t me that came up with it)!

Sugar Rush Party Series: Food, Drink & Goodies

Sugar Rush Party Series: Food, Drink & Goodies / Busy Mom's Helper
How have you liked the Sugar Rush Party Series so far? I hope you’ve had fun looking – we had fun planning and doing!!! This is the 3rd and last part in the series – the Food, Drink & Goodies (best part, right?)!
Sugar Rush Party Series: Food, Drink & Goodies / Busy Mom's Helper
For a fun little utensil wrap, I used candy bracelets/necklaces to hold their fork/spoon/knife – you can see in the photo above. The kids thought they were so fun, and the candy jewelry definitely didn’t last very long!

We did Sugar Rush Soda for the beverage. Simply buy a soda in bottles – such as IBC Rootbeer, or we did Crush Grape & Strawberry, since it matched our color scheme. Then we printed off simple labels with images or designs inspired by the movie, and tape them around the soda. I did two labels – One very simple, pink and blue, that say’s Sugar Rush’ then just has candy Canes and such. The other has Wreck it Ralph standing looking at the game Sugar Rush – remember after he crash lands? Ya, had to have an image of him SOMEWHERE!

Ok, I know this is one of the saddest looking cookie cakes ever – but we were trying to make it look like a kid-made, simple Hero Medal, like the one Vanellope made Ralph. So no fancy, professional decorating here -simple, yet cute.

Now, even though the cake wasn’t all that pretty – it tasted AMAZING! Like eating cookie dough, but being cooked. Love it! So I thought I should share the recipe for any other cookie-dough-lovers out there! Please note: This makes a BIG cookie! Like a large pizza kind of big!

Ingredients
16 tbsp. (2 sticks) Butter, melted
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup Brown Sugar, packed
2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 tsp. Salt
2 Large Eggs
2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
2 cups Chocolate Chips
Frosting for decorating – as desired

Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees F. If you have a pizza baking sheet, use that (circular works best, obviously), otherwise do your best with a normal baking sheet. Spray it or PREFERABLY – line with parchment paper.

Mix all of the ingredients (except frosting) together until VERY WELL COMBINED. Using a mixer helps save the arm muscles, but it does work out fine.

Pour the batter onto your baking sheet and shape into a large circle, about 3/4 of an inch thick.

Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean and edges are slightly browned.

Allow to cool completely. Decorate as desired – have fun!

Sugar Rush Party Series: Activities, Games & Crafts

Sugar Rush Party Series: Activities, Games & Crafts / Busy Mom's Helper
Who’s ready for Part 2 of the Sugar Rush Party Series? Great! Today I’m sharing the activities, games and crafts we did at Wonder Woman’s Party.
Sugar Rush Party Series: Activities, Games & Crafts / Busy Mom's Helper

First, we did this Sweet Bingo game, covered with lots of yummy goodies pictures. Of course, we used M&Ms as the playing pieces 😀

Remember in the movie when Vanellope made a medal for Ralph? Well, of course we had to have the girls make medals themselves! I just bought some cheap foam pieces – already in a heart shape – from Walmart. Saved me the hassle of cutting – woohoo! Punch two holes for some ribbon to make it wearable. Then just use markers or foam-paint, plus some ‘sweet’ sticker pieces so they can make it their own. Wonder Woman HAD to put Stink Brain on hers, of course, just like in the movie!

There was no way we could do a Sugar Rush party without making our own race cars – out of sweet treats, of course! We had a variety of goodies for them to use: Cookies, Smarties, Gummie Bears, Candy Dots, and Peppermints. Of course, make sure there’s LOTS of frosting (like Vanellope says: “A butt load of frosting”)!

Also, make sure you have a frosting writing tube, because “A work of art like this must be signed” – Vanellope

Look at all the fun varieties!

Okay, so I must say that we also did Diet Cola Mountain with ‘falling Mentos’ – but of course, it was so quick that I didn’t get any photos! A tip for when you do it, though – have a tube or something so that you can VERY QUICKLY pour ALL of the Mentos in. The second the first one hits, you’ll want to move, so if you can instantly get the whole tube in, the better it’ll be. The girls were laughing like CRAZY when we did this – I definitely recommend it!

Sugar Rush Party Series: Decorations

Sugar Rush Party Series: Decorations
Wonder Woman’s birthday fell on the first day of school this year. We had just moved into our new house (after only recently moving to Texas from another state) – so she had yet to make many friends. So I told her we should wait a month or two while she made some friends at school and in the neighborhood, then it’d be worth having a bigger party like she wanted. Anywho – end result: her Sugar Rush  birthday party a couple weeks ago.
Sugar Rush Party Series: Decorations

My kids love Wreck it Ralph. My boys will run around with their toy hammer saying ‘Fix it, Felix’ then taking turns being Ralph ‘wrecking’ things. It’s actually really cute! Wonder Woman decided that instead of a ‘boy party like Wreck it Ralph’ (her words, not mine), she wanted a Sugar Rush party. Fun, right?! This was a blast to put together, and the ideas are limitless…it was hard to choose!

Today I’m sharing the decorations from the party – how we ‘set the mood’, you could say.

How cute is this ‘lollipop’ walkway? All the girls thought it was just fabulous when they arrived, and it really got them excited (aka Hyper)! It was SOOO easy, too! All I did was use some Candy Cane stick decorations I had (they’re like $1 each at Walmart), since Candy Cane also fit in our theme, then wrapped cellophane around a balloon and tied it to the stick. Poke it in the ground lining the path to the party – Woohoo! They’ll feel like they’re in Sugar Rush, or Candy Land, or whatever ‘sweet’ thing.

My mom is the genius behind this cute little display. She set out the party bags (again, cheap at Walmart – and even have ‘sweets’ on them already), hung streamers, and decorated with some of our crafts, food and random candies. It was darling, and also helped give it the Sugar Rush feel.

This was a bit more challenging, I admit. We bought a bunch of the cheap, colorful tablecloths at Walmart, and used duck tape (Flat paint doesn’t let it stick well, just FYI) to hang them in one center area. Then, gently drape it to a side wall/ceiling to create a canopy look. You could go in a full circle, but the half circle worked best for us. We added some cute balloons at the center to help cover the duck tape, then used streamers to hang some down as a ‘floating centerpiece’. Sugar Rush is colorful, so this fit right in!

Witch Broom Party Gifts

March 10, 2016 by Kelly Dedeaux

Witch Broom Party Gifts / Busy Mom's Helper

Okay, I have to admit that I haven’t fully come to terms with the fact that Halloween is this week. I mean, SERIOUSLY! Where the heck did October go?!?! It seems like every year, once October hits time just FLIES until January. Agh!!! Anywho – here’s a fun, simple little Halloween craft that’s great for party favors, neighbor gifts, or even for trick-or-treaters (if you spend more time than I do – I just go straight from the bag, not even putting treats in the bowl). You’ll love this darling Witch Brooms, plus a treat is never bad, right?

Witch Broom Party Gifts / Busy Mom's Helper

Supplies
Suckers
Tissue Paper
Black stamp pad, or marker (or Brown, up to you)
Ribbon or thread
Embellishments, tag, etc. to decorate

Directions
Use the black stamp pad or marker to color the sucker sticks black. Or brown, if you so desire.

Take about 4-6 square pieces of tissue paper, fanning them out, then poke the sucker stick through the middle. Fold the tissue paper down and around the sucker part, to be the broom piece.

Use ribbon to tie the base of the stick, above the tissue paper, and along the bottom of the sucker. This really helps hold it in place, and give it the ‘broom’ look.

Then just primp it up with a cute card, tag, or embellishments like witch shoes or maybe a black cat. Use a fun saying like ‘We ‘Witch’ You a Happy Halloween’ or ‘Have a Be-Witching good Halloween’. Have fun with it!
