I’m a HUGE fan of the new Disney/Pixar movie Inside Out and the way it portrays emotions. You’ve got Anger, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and of course Joy! Now you can teach your kiddos all about emotions with this super fun ‘Today I’m Feeling’ Printable Emotion Chart featuring your favorite characters from Inside Out!

I’ll get more into the movie itself in another post soon, so for now I’ll just say that this movie is amazing – it seriously plays with all of your emotions in such a touching, laugh-out-loud way! We’ve been excited for it since seeing the first previews, so had to stock up on some great toys from Toys “R” Us!
I grabbed some packs of their mini figurines…
…and couldn’t pass up on the console with larger characters! Check out how Joy and Anger are lighting up below when they’re near the console – just like in the movie!
I also couldn’t resist getting hubby a plush Anger for his office!
To discuss the emotions with my kids, I created a chart they can change – after all, our emotions are always changing! You can download and print off the 8.5×11 Sheet HERE and then there’s a strip for the pocket and the circle character pieces in the 4×6 sheet HERE.
Cut them out and use double-sided tape for the bottom/sides of the pocket. This holds the circles that aren’t being used right then.
Add velcro pieces to the sheet (where you’ll add the emotion circles) then the opposite piece to the backs of the circles. This way you can switch them out as you’d like!
Then you’re all set to go! Explain what each emotion is, different reasons we may feel that way – and that they’re all OKAY. The way they handle the emotions may take some teaching, but it is fine to feel these emotions.
It’s also common to feel more than one at a time! You can feel joyful yet disgusted at the same time – even sad and joyful at once!
The Inside Out toys were super helpful as we were discussing emotions – and when you grab yours, be sure to use the Toys “R” Us Rewards program!
Let me know which of the emotion(s) are YOU feeling right now in the comments below – then go check out that character here!
