What’s all the fuzz in Facebook Quiz and why you shouldn’t take that?

June 25, 2020 by Angela Paris Leave a Comment

Are you a pizza or a taco? What is your favorite ice cream flavor? I am sure that you have seen hundreds of this type of quizzes on Facebook that are advertised as “personality tests” but do you know that they are actually bad for you? Personality tests are all over social media, and kids are the ones that fall the most for them. After all, what kid wouldn’t want to see who is the superhero that he resembles the most? Even though these quizzes might seem safe and fun, this is not the case. They are actually used as a tool of the dark arts of politics.

Data leaks such as the infamous Cambridge Analytica fiasco have revealed that companies are using the popular tests to gather private information about you and your family members. This is why you or your kids should never take them. If you don’t know how these quizzes work and how scary they are, then you are doing the right thing by coming to our website. Today I am going to show you everything that you need to know about them.

Do Quizzes Really Collect Data?

These tests are fun, and this is why so many people fall for them. Not just that, but they seem harmless, and no one thinks that their data is being collected. However, this is all made clear when you pay attention to the permissions that quizzes ask. If you click on the “Allow” button for these quizzes, you are unknowingly allowing the developers to store all your answers and analyze them.

“Allowing [quiz name] access will let it pull your profile information, photos, your friends’ info, and other content that it requires to work.” And just beneath the “Allow” button is a statement that says, “By proceeding, you are allowing [quiz name] to access your information and you are agreeing to the Facebook Terms of Use,” says the fine print of these quizzes.

These quizzes are becoming such a massive problem that Facebook felt the need to update its Privacy Update Page in order to warn everyone about them. Here is what Facebook has to say:

“When you use third-party apps, websites or other services that use, or are integrated with, our Services, they may receive information about what you post or share. For example, when you play a game with your Facebook friends or use the Facebook Comment or Share button on a website, the game developer or website may get information about your activities in the game or receive a comment or link that you share from their website on Facebook. In addition, when you download or use such third-party services, they can access your Public Profile, which includes your username or user ID, your age range and country/language, your list of friends, as well as any information that you share with them. Information collected by these apps, websites or integrated services is subject to their own terms and policies.”

Credit Card Fraud

As if the fact that your private data is being stored to be sold by data farms wasn’t scary enough, there also are some quizzes that lead to credit card fraud. There are many quizzes where data collection is not the primary focus, and instead, these quizzes are trying to steal your hard-earned money. The way that they are doing this is by providing various rewards, and to get them, users will need to pay a small fee. What users don’t realize is that when they introduce their card info, all of it will be copied by the scammers.

How Do I Protect My Data?

The first step is to do your research and be weary of all quizzes that require personal information, which is what you are already doing here so congratz for that. The next step is to avoid and report all Facebook quizzes at all costs. Even though the theme of the quiz might be interesting, it’s never a good idea to give it a try.

Another critical piece of advice that I want to share with you is to delete old accounts and, more importantly, update your old passwords. If your passwords are based on your favorite pet or the name of your children for example, you should change your passwords as soon as possible because the scammers will use the info that you provided in the quiz to crack your account.

You should also make sure to check what is the information that a quiz or a Facebook plug-in request before accessing it. Some apps will give you the option to opt-out of these requests and still access their features, but if you are not paying attention, you will end up sharing more information that you want.

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen #CollectiveBias

While hubby doesn’t work from home daily like I do, he does have a couple days a month – plus some evenings or weekends when he ‘brings work home’ with him – where he needs to use the office, too. I’m sure I’m not the only one who deals with the potential frustrations that come with having a co-office, sharing their work area with their spouse or significant other. Or maybe sharing with a child who homeschools or has more online work! Whatever the reason, it doesn’t have to be a huge headache – here’s some Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home to help you out!

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Tip #1: Have a Reliable & Flexible PC

Even before I became a full-time blogger (so I practically LIVE on my PC some days), I relied heavily on it for photo editing, online shopping, paying the bills, managing our spreadsheets and family calendars, and so much more. Since I can’t do without it for so many things – and often am multi-tasking on there anyway, I can’t handle if it’s slow or unresponsive, and don’t get me started on the frustrated of a PC that freezes on you! When hubby and I learned about the 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processor, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on one because there’s a 40% performance jump between it and the 7th gen, plus 2x better performance compared to a 5-year-old PC. If you’re still dealing with that, it’s time to make the switch like us!

Tips for Sharing a Workspace #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Maybe I’m just impatient for wanting things instantly in this modern life, or just want to utilize my time the best I can since us moms have SO MUCH TO DO, and effort can’t be wasted on old computers. Since Intel’s new 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processor is designed to help you and your computer keep pace in this crazy digital world, it allows you to get things done fast and easy – plus you can shop with built-in security and even immerse yourself in leading-edge entertainment. We can’t ALWAYS be working when on our PCs, right? 😉

Tips for Sharing a Workspace #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Our new ASUS ZenBook Flip UX370 we got from our local Microsoft Store, containing the 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processor, was the perfect purchase for us in our dual-person home workspace because:

  1. Exceptional performance – unprecedented power and responsiveness, which is crucial in a mom’s (or dad’s) fast-paced digital world
    • Editing photos, creating videos, or multi-tasking on all the To-Dos on our list, it makes it faster, easier and more enjoyable to check things off!
    • Instant wake experience means no more sitting around waiting for it to start up so you can begin your tasks
    • Instantly sync to other devices, which is great for hubby to sinc from home to work!
  2. Security is made simple – the built-in security adds a layer of protection to make password logins, browsing and online payments safe and simple
    • The finger pad makes payments simple and secure
    • Don’t gamble on old computers with your data – the built-in password and payment security features of the 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processor make logging-in and online purchases safer and simpler
  3. Exciting entertainment – we both love the amazing entertainment hub, which can stream 4K UHD vidoes, power virtual reality and allows us to play our favorite games.
    • Theater-like entertainment at home or on-the-go (airports will no longer be a bore – yay!) with a thin & light computer with a long batter life
    • No more ‘buffering makes me sad’ or aweful lags
    • binge watch Netflix or Hulu for up to TEN HOURS without plugging in (yes, go get one NOW and start that new TV show marathon!)

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Tip #2: Have Separate File/Storage Areas

I have planners, bills and notebooks with random notes and thoughts galore – while hubby has software books and office letterhead documents. It’s a nightmare trying to find your stuff amidst the jumbled piles, so get some file folders, shelves, racks, paper towers, etc. so you can each have a spot for YOUR stuff. This way you know exactly where the thing you need is, saving you time (and sanity!). This also comes in handy for cords – like my camera cable – or USB drives. Random objects can easily to in ‘yours’ or ‘theirs’ baskets, keeping things separated. Marriage is often about joining, but some things are best kept separate – like your work and office accessories!

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Tip #3: Keep it Mobile & Flexible

Remember when desktops were pretty much the norm, and if you weren’t at your desk then too dang bad? Since we use our PC for so many aspects of our work and home life, we rely on 2-in-1s and laptops because they’re so easy to take on-the-go when needed. When sharing a workspace at home, sometimes you just CAN’T make it worth with both of you at the desk at the same time. Or when I wanted to browse online to purchase hubby something for Christmas, I didn’t want him looking over my shoulder at the desk. My new laptop is perfect for just taking on the go – and I’m absolutely LOVING the flip feature, taking it into mobile-mode for some extra ease and fun!

Tips for Sharing a Workspace #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Oh, and the pen/inking allows you to write, draw or erase as naturally as your creativity – maybe the next school science project will be done easily during a break at karate class, or editing family photos for Christmas cards done while waiting at the doctors office! When at home, if you need an extra monitor or larger screen, just get an additional monitor and plug it into your PC – best of all worlds!

Tips for Sharing a Workspace #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Tip #5: Keep it Neutral While Still Adding Personality

Hubby doesn’t care tons for pops of color or decor, while it really helps my mood and productivity to have some attractiveness to my workspace. Try to find a good balance – a little pop of color on the big desk calendar, plus a cute mug for holding the pens, pencils and highlighters was a good compromise when we started sharing a workspace. You could also have different backgrounds on your PC, so depending on who logs in shows a different picture or image – mine’s a bunch of family photos, while he prefers a slideshow of artistic fantasy or sci-fi scenes. That helps keep your space YOURS, while still being just as good for the other person.

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Tip #6: Clean Often & Keep it Simple

If I’m not careful, I tend to let papers, notes and printables take over my entire desk space, making it really distracting and difficult to be productive. Just like an old computer clogged with stuff from who-knows-when, a new PC with the 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processor can be simple and clean (making it that much faster and easier to work and find things on your computer!). Be sure to clean off your desk and work area often, and utilize filing systems or scanner – I love scanning things into my computer, then filing them accordingly. It saves so much space! And while you do need all your work accessories (pens, pencils, paper, markers and notes), try not to over-clutter with unnecessary stuff. If you let that happen with ONE person’s desk it’s frustrating – with TWO sharing a workspace, it’s just a total nightmare.

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Tip #7: Don’t Be Afraid to Have YOUR Chair

For awhile hubby and I shared the same desk chair – which was an awful idea! He liked it to be free to lean all the way back, so when I got into it I’d about fall over when it startled me leaning back. He finds a different level of cushioning and back support comfortable than I do. It’s crucial that you feel comfortable when sitting at your work area, so don’t hesitate to get two different chairs that you can just switch out for whoever’s going to use the desk next. This could save a lot of arguments – and sore backs!

Tips for Sharing a Workspace at Home #AD #LoveYourPC #Intel8thGen

Having an organized, attractive and USABLE desk area can make a huge difference when you’re sharing a workspace at home – for both you AND your other half. Even though it may be frustrating at times, compromising and communicating well with each other will go a long ways to make it as hassle-free as possible. I love when my hubby gets to work from home, even if it does mean sharing my beautiful office!

My Favorite Blogging Resources / by BusyMomsHelper.com / Don't waste your time or money of the wrong blogging ebooks, courses or products - here's what I use that I love!

I know, typically this blog doesn’t cover actual BLOGGING topics – so if you aren’t a blogger, or not interested in becoming one, just check back tomorrow for more awesomeness! If you ARE one, or looking at becoming one, I thought it’d be good share My Favorite Blogging Resources – the things that helped me the most with increasing my blog income, traffic and strategy, as well as the products and such I personally use to make my blogging career easier!

I started this blog in early 2013, but didn’t really take it ‘seriously’ until early 2015. As I tried frantically to bring up my traffic, social media following AND income all at once, the day-to-day of this business really made me want to pull out my hair. I would read tons of online posts and plenty of Ebooks on the subject, and while many weren’t ultra helpful (some not even accurate anymore, since the blogging world changes quite often) there were some resources that made a HUGE difference and allowed me to finish 2015 with a bang, making over $20,000 for the year.

How this blogger made over $20k with less than 60k pageviews / how to make money blogging / by BusyMomsHelper.com

I’m not going to list the things that weren’t REALLY worthwhile, because – as I said before – there’s plenty I read and researched, but it didn’t make much of a difference. I only want to include in this list the BIGGEST things that helped me grow, and that continue to help me increase as 2016 progresses – and my goals for this year are REALLY awesome!

#1: The Best Blogging Courses

I’ve paid more money than I’d care to admit trying different blogging courses – but I’ve finally found the ONE blogging course that I’d recommend. It included so much, had quality instructions (videos AND free printables) AND made the biggest difference: The Blogpreneur Course. The 3 awesome ladies that put this together make a combine 6+ figure income EACH MONTH from their blogs. Obviously they know what they’re doing!

My Favorite Blogging Resources / by BusyMomsHelper.com / Don't waste your time or money of the wrong blogging ebooks, courses or products - here's what I use that I love!

#2: Blogging Ebooks that are Worth The Money

Originally, I wanted to share with you how many ebooks I’ve read total, so you could see that number versus how many I highly recommend. Once I got to ten (in the past 1-2 years, mind you) I decided I was bored going back through it all – sorry! But of them all, here are the ones I really do recommend and believe are worth the money.

  • How I went from 17k pageviews to 350+ monthly pageviews in 9 months
  • Blogging on the Side: Where Passion and Profit Meet
  • How to Pitch Brands (with free templates!)

#3: Blogging Posts that Really Know Their Stuff

We all love free stuff, right? There truly are some fabulous posts about blogging – tips, suggestions, the social media part, etc. – out their on the internet totally free and ready for you to find them. The problem is, there’s EVEN MORE posts like that that just don’t quite qualify as really helpful. They may have been at one point, but keep in mind that blogging is always changing, especially the social media aspects of it! Here are my top favorite articles that have made the biggest difference in my blogging.

  • Pinterest Secrets from a Pinner with over 104K Followers
  • Time Management Tips for the Full-Time Working & Blogging Mom
  • How I hit 1,000,000 Visitors in a Year of Blogging
  • How to Make a Post go Viral

Here’s a list of more good blogging posts – but the above list are my favorites!

#4: My Favorite Blogging Tools and Resources

  • Hosting with Servously – I’ve tried several hosting companies, from Bluehost to GoDaddy and more. I’m sticking with Servously because not only have I had so little down time, but the rates are fabulous (starting at just $10 per month), you get into their private Facebook group for even faster support, they back up your site daily, and they grow with you! I can’t say enough good about them!
  • Tailwind – I love the ease of Tailwind, making it so I don’t have to be ON Pinterest tons throughout the day. Which is good, since I’d get sucked in even more and spend my whole life pinning and repinning things! It’s affordable, and allows you to set up your own schedule, then just pin through their system and VIOLA, it handles it all for you.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud – this is great for editing, creating printables and products, and so much more!
  • PicMonkey – this is what I use for 99% of my blog post images, as well as creating certain graphics and such for printables and products. It’s so fun, easy and LOTS of great options!

How this blogger made over $20K with less than 60K pageviews

February 18, 2016 by Kelly Dedeaux

How this blogger made over $20k with less than 60k pageviews / how to make money blogging / by BusyMomsHelper.com

When people ask me what I do for work, I tell them I’m a full-time blogger. 90% of the time this brings on the question “do you actually make money blogging?” That’s a difficult question, because it varies for each person – from making LOTS of money, to no income, to even costing them money. Each story is different, each blog is different, but I’m going to tell you how THIS blogger made over $20k last year with less than 60k pageviews a month!

How this blogger made over $20k with less than 60k pageviews / how to make money blogging / by BusyMomsHelper.com

Contains affiliate links that support this blog at no extra cost to you. See my disclosure policy for more info.

Now let me clarify a few things – I made just over $20,000 (was just over $23k total), but that wasn’t profit – it was gross income. I’m still at that stage where I choose to put everything I earn back into my blog. Things like hiring a VA, courses (like BlogPreneur) and ebooks (like How I went from 17k pageviews to 350+ monthly pageviews in 9 months), conferences, supplies for posts, even a Family Forward Conference/Vacation was out of that money. I’m only counting what was actually PAID to me – some work was done in November/December but payment will count as 2016. When I average out the year, my monthly pageviews were under 60,000 per month. You DON’T have to have high pageviews to make money blogging – but yes, it would help!

Here’s some big things I did that jumped my income up from around just $5k in 2014 up to $20k in 2015.

#1: I improved my photography

I learned some amazing tips for handling my camera and styling shots during the Click Retreat in January. Then I took the Confidence Workshop from MeRa Koh and really learned how to use my camera manually. This made a HUGE difference in my pictures! I still have a lot of improving to go, but it’s already come a long way, and my photos are more likely to get repinned if they look awesome. This helped my income because brands are more eager to work with someone who has excellent photography.

#2: I took the Business2Blogger Course: BlogPreneur

Ran by three amazing bloggers who combined make OVER 6 FIGURES A MONTH: Holly from Kids Activities Blog, Becky from Your Modern Family and Paula from Beauty Through Imperfection, this course teaches you EVERYTHING from photo editing, how to help a post go viral, social media, and writing for your audience. Guys, I haven’t even FINISHED all the great videos yet, as I work through them one by one, but my blogging business has seen a huge difference – this gave me a big push towards the end of last year, and has me super hopeful for 2016!

#3: I Connected with Other Bloggers

This isn’t a competition, it’s a community. Tearing each other down helps nobody, building each other up helps everybody! I’ve made some amazing friends and gotten new connections thanks to those friends. We help each other with blogging questions, bouncing off ideas, and support. I recently released my new Disneyland Activity & Autograph Book and asked in my communities if anyone could help me spread the word. I was left in tears as not a few, but DOZENS of wonderful bloggers didn’t hesitate to support my new project! These connections can be your lifeline with your blog – don’t ignore them.

#4: I Managed my Time Better

You could work 18 hour days on your blog and STILL have plenty left on your list of things to do. I learned to prioritize and focus. I learned what my own strengths were, as well as my weaknesses – then I hired a VA to handle what would take a large chunk of my time. Yes, it costs money to have a VA, but she can do her assigned tasks a ton faster than I would – and then I was able to focus my attention on other items of my blog.

#5: Apply for Sponsored Posts – a Lot

Guys, pageviews aren’t everything. They’re awesome and nice and helpful – but QUALITY is meaning more and more. Make your blog easy to navigate, be consistent with social media and INTERACT with your followers, use beautiful photos, and just be you. Apply for sponsored posts as much as you can – but stay with what your blog is about. Don’t sacrifice the quality of your blog, or your followers, just to grab a sponsored post. I won’t do alcohol posts unless it’s for cooking. That’s just not me or my blog. I won’t review horror movies because I HATE them, and don’t cover that type of thing. Stay consistent to YOU and YOUR BLOG. Watch for opportunities that match, make a great pitch for a unique idea, then deliver high quality content. One sponsored post will turn into two, then three, and so on. Don’t let fear prevent you for trying for those paid opportunities!

Make Your Own Cookbook with Blurb / by BusyMomsHelper.com #sponsored

I received a voucher to create my own cookbook with Blurb to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine alone.

Do you know how many recipes I’ve published on this site? Neither do I, but I know it’s a LOT!!! Dozens and dozens of yummy recipes that I worked hard for – and have always wanted to put into a cookbook. Well, guess what? I finally did it – at least a first draft version. And if I’d known how easy it was to Make Your Own Cookbook with Blurb, I would’ve done it ages ago!

Make Your Own Cookbook with Blurb / by BusyMomsHelper.com #sponsored

There’s several options you can choose from – what size of cookbook, the quality of pages and color options, layouts and fonts. Blurb even offers plenty of downloadable templates making is SUPER easy to just pull up in your favorite program (like Adobe Indesign) and add all your images and texts!

Make Your Own Cookbook with Blurb / by BusyMomsHelper.com #sponsored

I had so much fun playing with the layouts, picking which recipes I wanted to include in the book, then setting up my purchasing/ordering options simply on the Blurb website. You can even check it out and order one for yourself here! Like I said, this was just a quick version for me to test it out – and I loved how easy it was to do!

Make Your Own Cookbook with Blurb / by BusyMomsHelper.com #sponsored

I can’t wait to sit down and really put together a fabulous, amazing cookbook again with Blurb featuring the best of the best from Busy Mom’s Helper.

Which recipes would YOU like to see in our cookbook?

The Crazy Good of Family Forward

January 9, 2016 by Kelly Dedeaux

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Our family attended the 2015 Family Forward Conference, and as such we received several discounted and sponsored experiences, meals and other perks provided by the sponsors of the event. This is simply a recap of my experience that I want to share with y’all. #FamilyForward #UniversalMemories

I know you’ve probably been going nutty waiting to hear how our first time joining the Family Forward event went, right? I meant to share some of our fun times sooner – but there were seriously SO MANY pictures to go through! I also needed to think of how I wanted to break it up, because there’s absolutely no way to fit everything into one or two posts. I’m thinking 5-8 over the next few weeks? Then I can really give you the great details of The Crazy Good of Family Forward!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

This post is going to break down the actual Family Forward stuff – not including the days in Universal with the special VIP Tour we got Saturday, or the exclusive time at Wet ‘n Wild park. Those will come later! And just a note – some of these photos were taken by the Family Forward team – the better ones! While we’re on that note – the team that put this together is AMAZING! A big shout-out to (from left to right in this picture) Kendra, Marissa, Jyl and Melinda for all their hardwork and fun attitudes!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Plus THANK YOU to their families and everyone else – I know it takes a village to put something like this together, and they were phenomenal! Plus this lovely lady Meredith, our rep from Universal Studios Orlando, was such a fabulous hostess even though she entirely lost her voice right before the event – what a trooper!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

We signed up for Family Forward RIGHT when registration opened (sold out super fast) but kept it a big secret from the kiddos all these months! They had no idea – until Thursday morning we woke them up way early, had them get dressed and in the van, and drove to the airport. Once we were on the plane with another family that was going, we pulled out some fun activity bags filled with goodies like Minions, Transformers and Harry Potter stuff and told them. They were THRILLED!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Since we knew we’d need help with the kiddos, we invited hubby’s parents along for the trip – such a great opportunity to make fun memories with grandma and grandpa! After we check into the fabulous Loews Royal Pacific Hotel (post coming soon), grabbing a tasty lunch at their poolside grill, and settling down in the room a bit, it was time for the first Family Forward activity – a Superhero party sponsored by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

We got capes and masks, put together care packages to help raise funds for kids fighting cancer and other diseases, and even got to color and write cards to help cheer those in the hospitals up!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

We had so much fun! We decided our family’s super power was working together.

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Some people REALLY dressed up for the superhero party – sadly our hero costumes are in storage for the whole house selling crap, so we settled for Avenger shirts!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Following the party, we hopped on buses that took us to a back studio where Universal sponsored an AMAZING dinner – with 5 or 6 different food stations all themed (salad bar cart, pasta station with Italian decor, etc.) and plenty of characters to meet. Plus – we were welcomed in style with a red carpet, live band and applause! Ya – we may have gotten a bit ‘blessed’ (remember, I don’t use spoiled as a good thing – it’s BLESSED) 😀

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Black Widow was most excited to meet Marilyn Monroe and Betty Boop – saying ‘mom, they’re so pretty!’ Shaggy was PERFECT for his character, and along with his pal Scooby Doo took a lot of time visiting with the families. You can’t forget Gru and his crew of Minions, of course!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Guess what we got to do after the dinner party?! Universal Studios Orlando put us on the Hogwarts Express and sent us to Hogsmeade for an EXCLUSIVE couple of hours there where it was ONLY Family Forward attendees! Free Butterbeer, dessert bar, hardly any wait for the rides, taking our time walking through Hogwarts Castle, wand-purchases – seriously it was THE BEST! I’m going to go into a LOT more detail about the Harry Potter stuff & Hogsmeade in a later post because it deserves it’s own!

The morning brought us a yummy breakfast provided by Loews Royal Pacific Hotel, then some family-activity workshops! Black Widow was super thrilled about DohVinci!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

If you have no idea what that is – it’s a special playdough type thing in tubes you can stick into the crafting gun, then just squeeze and it decorates any surface! The boys needed a little assistance squeezing the gun handle, but my girl handled it like a pro!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

They even let us keep our masterpieces – and we managed to pack them flat and get them home without any damage – woot woot!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

Royal Caribbean International provided us a neat, tropical lunch and even brought along one of their characters for a photo opp – Shrek! I was lucky enough to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise for a conference in January – and after seeing all they have for kids to do, I can’t wait to take my family on a cruise with this fun company!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

After lunch was a really neat science experiment involving DNA sponsored by Monsanto, along with yummy colored melons for snack. The kids got necklaces at the end with a sealed vial of strawberry DNA at the end – how many kids can say they have that?!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

We enjoyed not only the learning we got to do, but the family teamwork! I started to wonder if Iron Man would ever take his orange safety goggles off 😀

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

That night we got a special time at Wet ‘n Wild water park – 2 hours with everyone (it did rain a bit, but then cleared and was perfect) then 2 hours JUST OUR FAMILY FORWARD GROUP! Yup, told you we were blessed! They even provided us dinner vouchers – yum! Again, that deserves it’s own post (coming soon).

Saturday morning brought us to a delicious breakfast buffet at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville in CityWalk! Loved the decor, the DJ was so fun, and we got to rock out to some fun dancing and tunes. Great way to start the day!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

We then broke into groups of about 12 – and received a VIP Tour of Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure! Seriously, this was AMAZING – straight onto the major rides with basically no wait, insider tips and information, backlot sites and so much more. LOVED IT! The 4 hours went by so fast, and we had an absolute blast! I’ll share a bit more of that in  later post, too!

That night we got to enjoy The Blue Man Group! I’ve never seen them before and wasn’t sure if the kids would like it – but as soon as the show started they were on the edge of their seats (Hulk woke up from his little cat nap), danced to the music, laughed along and absolutely loved it!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

The lovely Melinda from the Family Forward Team even got to go up and be part of the act!

The Crazy Good of Family Forward / by Busy Mom's Helper

We had a free day Sunday until a ridiculously delicious dinner in CityWalk at either the CowFish or VIVO, an Italian place. We picked Cowfish (sushi – like hubby could resist!) – more to come on that in a later post, though! Seriously, this entire event was unforgettable and I can’t wait to do it again!

Thank you SO MUCH to Family Forward and Universal Studios Orlando!

Getting Ready for Family Forward with Minion Bingo Free Printables / by Busy Mom's Helper

It’s been planned since we bought tickets to Family Forward MONTHS ago, and the best part? We haven’t told our kids! We’re going to wake them up early on the 3rd (when you’ll probably be reading this), tell them we’ve got a surprise and head to the airport. Neither hubby or I will say a word about this great adventure until we land. Woot woot! Fingers crossed I can keep my mouth shut until then. And big SHOUT-OUT to my sis-in-law for staying at our home while we’re gone to keep our dogs and everything safe!

Getting Ready for Family Forward with Minion Bingo Free Printables / by Busy Mom's Helper

Even though the kids have no idea why, I’ve been doing more things involving the trip – Minions, Harry Potter (squeal!), Transformers  and more. Another Dallas blogger and her family are going, and it turns out we’re on the same flight there – and her girls are about the same age as my Black Widow! They’re going to have so much fun – and she’s keeping it a secret, too.

With all the extra things I’ve been doing, I pulled together these fun Bingo cards because, well, why the heck not?! There’s three pages, and each has TWO different Bingo cards for a total of SIX different cards.
