First up, we have this 4-in-1 convertible baby crib from Delta. This modern baby crib comes in either gray, dark wood, or white, perfect for a neutral-themed nursery.
If you want to invest in a crib that’s built to last, and can grow with your baby, we can’t recommend this enough. This stylish crib also converts into a toddler bed, daybed, and even a full-sized bed with a headboard!
The mattress features an adjustable height so you can lower your mattress as your baby starts to stand in the crib.
This model is also JPMA certified and has been tested for lead and other toxic elements, so you can rest assured that your baby will sleep well in this elegant, well-constructed crib.
When we put this to the test, we also found it incredibly easy to construct. This is a solid wood crib and comes with in-depth instructions; we were able to assemble it with just one person!
Converting this crib to the daybed, toddler bed, and full-sized bed was also incredibly simple, however, you will need to purchase a separate guardrail kit for the full-sized bed.
Another downfall of this crib is that it’s pretty tall. With a height of around 44”, you may struggle to reach inside the crib if you’re 5 ft 2 or shorter. If you want a timeless, versatile investment for your nursery, we highly recommend this crib.
Pros
- Modern Design: Looks great in any setting, and never goes out of style.
- Easy to Assemble: This crib comes with detailed instructions, and can be constructed by just one person.
- Adjustable Mattress Height: You can make the mattress lower when your baby starts to stand,
- Convertible: Can be converted to a toddler bed, daybed, and even a full-sized bed when they grow!
Cons
- Tall: If you’re 5 ft2 or under, you may struggle to physically reach inside this crib.
- Bed Rails not Included: If you want to convert this to a daybed or toddler bed, you’ll need to purchase the full-sized bed rails which are sold separately.

Now, let’s take a look at one of our other favorite cribs – the Dream on Me Clover 4-in-1 Modern Island Crib. This stunning mid-century style crib is a centerpiece all in itself.
Available in olive and green, white, and white and natural, there’s a style or color combination to suit almost any room. It’s also made from durable and renewable New Zealand pinewood and boasts full panel sides, non-toxic finishes, and adjustable mattress height settings.
This crib also converts into a toddler bed and daybed, and when they want a little more freedom, it can even be used as a sofa in their room!
However, to make the sofa conversion, you’ll need to purchase the conversion rails which are sold separately.
Thanks to the adjustable mattress height, this is an investment that will last you for years to come and adjusted to suit your growing child’s needs.
As you’d expect, this crib has also been tested by external labs to ensure it meets the required safety standards and does not contain lead or other toxic elements.
With a height of 36.25”, this is a slightly shorter alternative to the Delta making it more accessible for shorter parents.
When we put this together, we found the instructions simple to follow, and although it’s fairly lightweight, it feels exceptionally durable.
There are only two real downsides we found with this crib: firstly, you’ll have to buy the conversion rails for the sofa conversion separately, and secondly, the paint isn’t all that durable.
If this scratches on other objects, the paint can peel away easier than we’d like. However, if you’re looking for a reliable, sturdy, comfortable, and convertible crib with a sleep mid-century design, you can’t go wrong with this!
Pros
- Beautiful Design: Available in a variety of colors, this crib boasts a classic design that looks great in any room.
- Easy Assembly: This crib has simple instructions, and takes minimal time or effort to put together.
- Adjustable and Convertible: With an adjustable mattress height and different conversion opportunities, this crib can stay with your child while they grow, and even be used as a sofa in their room when they grow.
Cons
- Separate Conversion Rails: If you want to convert this model into a sofa, you’ll have to buy the conversion rails separately.
- Flaky Paint: Unfortunately, the paint on these cribs can scratch off easily.
Storkcraft Steveston Convertible Crib And Changer With Drawer

If you want a stylish crib that can help maximize your storage, look no further than this 5-in-1 convertible crib and changer with drawer, from Storkcraft and Steveston.
This classic design is available in gray or espresso brown, making it an attractive and modern choice for almost any nursery. It even comes with an easy-to-clean, water-resistant baby changing pad, so you can rest assured you’ll really get your money’s worth!
Now, on to the main features. This baby crib can also convert to a toddler bed (guardrails will need to be purchased separately), a daybed, a full-sized bed with a headboard, and even an optional footboard (a separate conversion kit is required).
Beneath the crib, you’ll find a generous full-sized drawer with two separate compartments, which is great for storing clothes, additional bedding, or other essentials.
Best of all, though, this crib boasts a changing table with two open shelves beneath it, and the table also features a safety strap and changing pad. This really is the ultimate crib!
This model has also been screened for lead and other toxic chemicals, and it’s expertly tested for safety and durability.
We assembled this crib ourselves, and even with the added extras, it was relatively easy to construct. The wood feels sturdy, weighty, and strong, and it comes well-packaged to avoid the risk of damage during transport.
The mattress height was also easy to adjust, but there is one BIG downfall with this model – it doesn’t come with the mattress.
This is pretty disappointing as the model itself is rather expensive, however, we feel that the extra storage, changing table, and quality of the crib make this justifiable.
Pros
- Extra Storage: With a large drawer beneath the crib and a changing table with extra storage, you’ll never be short on space with this functional crib.
- Easy Assembly: Despite all the extra parts, this crib is still easy to put together, and the instruction leaflet is well laid out.
- Convertible: This can be converted to a daybed, toddler bed, and full-sized crib, making it a great choice for your nursery.
Cons
- No Mattress: Unfortunately, this model doesn’t come with the mattress, so you’ll have to buy one separately.
- Guardrails are Separate: To convert this crib to a footboard or toddler bed, you’ll need to buy a separate conversion kit.
Graco Hadley 5-in-1 Convertible Crib (With Drawer)
![](https://i0.wp.com/m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZIbaSTk-L._AC_SX679_.jpg?resize=350%2C353&ssl=1)
If you’re a fan of the under-the-crib storage, you’ll love this 5-in-1 convertible crib with drawer by Graco Hadley.
This elegantly designed crib is available in white or black, and either option looks exceptionally stylish and durable.
As with most other convertible cribs, this model also transforms from a crib into a toddler bed, day bed, full-sized bed, and footboard, however, you’ll need to buy separate guardrails and conversion kits for the toddler bed and footboard.
The mattress support base can be moved to three different heights, and this crib is not recommended for children exceeding 89 cm in height.
The storage drawer below the crib features two separate compartments, making this model great for smaller nurseries, or for parents with plenty of baby items to pack away!
Made from sustainable pine wood and boasting a safe and stylish finish, this crib is as beautiful as it is safe and secure. It’s also been tested by third parties for the presence of lead and other toxic chemicals, and its traditional farmhouse design makes it look great in any space.
This may not be the most expansive crib on the market, but it sure is stylish. When we put it to the test, we felt that the wood was durable and secure, however, we did notice that the paint can scratch off pretty easily.
Although most of the instructions are easy to follow, the drawer can be difficult to fit in, and perhaps the biggest drawback of them all is that no mattress is included.
However, if you want something simple, stylish, and to the point, we feel like this crib is a great model for the price.
Pros
- Farmhouse Design: This beautiful crib has a simple and elegant design, which looks great in any space.
- Convertible: Like most other cribs, this model is convertible and can last your baby several years.
- Bonus Drawer: This crib also features a large, two-compartment style drawer beneath the crib, which is great for extra storage.
Cons
- No Mattress: You’ll need to purchase the mattress separately.
- Paint Can Flake Off: Unfortunately, the paint can flake off pretty easily on this crib.
- Drawer Can Be Difficult to Fit: Although the crib itself is easy to put together, we did find the drawer difficult to install.
Breathable Mesh Convertible Crib (Adjustable Mattress Heights)
![](https://i0.wp.com/m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81qHBVDBzcL._SX679_.jpg?resize=350%2C353&ssl=1)
Last on our list is one of our favorite products: the breathable mesh convertible crib with adjustable mattress heights.
If you look at this crib in comparison to our other models, you’ll notice it looks a little different. That’s because this model is surrounded by a breathable mesh rather than railings which you won’t find on many other models!
This crib is also available in beech, beach and white, black, gray, steel gray, walnut, and more, so you’re sure to find the right design for your nursery.
This elegant, sturdy wooden crib benefits from a patented breathable mesh around the outside, which prevents injury to arms and legs, and means your little ones also can’t throw their toys or pacifiers out of the crib as easily!
This crib also converts to a bassinet, toddler bed (separate conversion kit required), and the mattress can be adjusted in two positions, meaning it will last your baby for years to come.
The bed itself is also completely non-toxic and eco-friendly and has been tested to ensure it doesn’t contain any traces of lead or other harmful chemicals.
When we tested this crib, we personally found its mesh design to be revolutionary.
There’s no risk of your child getting their arms or legs stuck between the slats on the crib, which gave us unparalleled peace of mind.
It’s also a pretty spacious crib, so your child will have plenty of space to move around (WITHOUT being able to escape…). The wood is also of great quality, and we found it easy to construct. Unfortunately, though, there’s no crib mattress included.
Pros
- Great Quality: This crib is sturdy and secure.
- Mesh: The mesh sides are truly revolutionary and prevent the risk of injury.
- Convertible: This crib can convert to a bassinet, toddler bed, or day bed, making it an exceptional choice for your nursery.
Cons
- No Mattress: Unfortunately, the crib mattress is not included.

Safety
Safety is your number one priority. How safe is your chosen crib? Does it meet government requirements and safety standards? Does it have good reviews? Is it well constructed?
If you’re buying a crib online, take a close look at the product description or website for this information. Keep an eye out for product recalls, too, just in case yours is on there.
Ideally, your crib should have the following safety features:

- No missing or damaged hardware
- A firm, tight-fitting mattress
- Slats with no more than 2 ⅜ inches of space between them
Style

Standard
Standard cribs are basic, won’t convert, and are the least expensive models on the market. Like any quality crib, it will be durable and well made, however, many parents will prefer a convertible crib for its versatility.
Convertible Cribs
All of the cribs on our last are convertible. That’s because convertible cribs are the most popular options, and thanks to their versatile designs, they can last you for years to come, even if they do require a bigger initial investment.
Although it may require an extra conversion kit, your convertible crib can last from the first months of life up to the toddler years.
Additional Features
Do you want any of the extra bells and whistles on your crib?
If you’re prepared to splash the cash, you can get a few extra features on your crib, including a teething rail, extra storage space, and even caster wheels for a moving crib.
If you’re going to buy a crib with extra accessories like a teething rail, just ensure it’s securely attached to the rail and doesn’t present a choking hazard.
