Caramel Banana Cream Pie

Caramel Banana Cream Pie / Busy Mom's Helper
Adapted from Kraft Busy Family Recipes

Have I told you that my hubby doesn’t like chocolate? Is that insane or what?! He’ll eat ‘some’ chocolate, such as brownies, but no chocolate candies, cake, ice cream, etc. Now, a lot of people, when they hear that, say ‘that’s terrible’! Think of this, though…..the less he eats, the more I get 🙂
Anywho…it was his birthday in February, and of course I couldn’t make him a chocolaty dessert. Therefor, I had to give this yummy sounding Caramel Banana Cream Pie a try! Oh my goodness, it almost makes me give up chocolate (almost, don’t worry). It’s just bursting with smooth, creamy flavor. Love it!
Ingredients:
2 pkg. (8 oz. each) Cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup packed Brown sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
8 oz. Cool Whip
1/2 cup Caramel syrup
1 Graham cracker pie crust
1/2 cup Pecan pieces
2 Bananas, sliced
Directions:
Beat the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in a bowl until well blended. Mix in 2 cups of the whipped cream. Set aside.
Pour 1/4 cup of the caramel topping onto the crust, spreading to cover evenly. Top with layers of 1/4 cup pecans, bananas and cream cheese mixture. Spread remaining whipped topping over top, and sprinkled with the rest of the pecans.
Refrigerate for 2 hours. Drizzle with remaining caramel topping.

  • Holy Bananas! I think I should just dream about that one. I’m afraid if I made it I would eat the whole thing!!

    • I totally understand – one reason I make non-chocolate things, because then at least my husband will eat some. When I make yummy chocolate things, I eat most of it myself (unless I want to sugar rush my kids) 🙂

    • Thanks so much – I actually LOVE your blog hop party, and have it on my calendar to be sure to regularly go by 🙂 Hope you both have a FANTASTIC weekend!

    • Thanks so much Cami! It was definitely a sinful treat, but I enjoyed every bite I got 😀 Desserts are seriously my weakness, I admit! I think when my kids are all in school and I have a bit more time to exercise, I’ll just make up the difference by enjoying more treats!

  • Hi Danielle! I want to make this pie for my boyfriend’s birthday (banana cream is his fav!). Is this recipe for a standard 9″ pie? I’m thinking of doubling it and placing it in a larger pan as there will be approx 15 people at the party.

Thank you for sharing, it looks amazing!!

    • Fabulous – happy birthday to him! Yes, it’s for a standard 9″ pie – a deep one! If there’s that many people, yes I’d definitely recommend doubling it – although you’d either need to make your own pie crust, buy a larger one (I can only find 9″ ones premade) or just do 2 or so pies. Either way, hope you all ENJOY, and thanks so much for reading!

  • Yes, your hubby is crazy for not liking chocolate! 🙂 this looks delish! Thanks for a great recipe.
