Easy Oven Roasted Barbecue Chicken
Equipment
- 9x13 baking pan Glass Preferred
- Basting Spoon
Ingredients
- 1 Whole Chicken Thawed
- 1 cup Ketchup
- ½ cup Vinegar
- 1 cup Sugar
- 6 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Garlic Salt
- 1 Tbsp Yellow mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350
- In your 9x13 pan, place your thawed chicken top side down, (Breast Side Down).
- Mix together ketchup, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, garlic salt, and mustard.
- Pour over the chicken.
- Bake at 350 for 45 mins to an hour
- Turn chicken over and bake for another 30 mins and use your basting spoon to bast the chicken.
- Bake for another 15 mins.
- Use your meat thermometer and check temperature, it should be 165 degrees.
- Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before carving.

But my mom showed me this easy oven roasted barbecue chicken recipe and few years ago and I had to share it with all the other busy mom’s out there, it’s so simple and has not failed me yet!

- Turn chicken over and bake for another 30 mins and use your basting spoon to bast the chicken, Don’t skip this step or the chicken will turn out dry.
- Bake for another 15 mins.
- Use your meat thermometer and check temperature, it should be 165 degrees.
- Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before carving.
